Snacks and lunch? in Ipoh

On our exploration through Concubine Lane, we encountered an interesting snack.

Fried baby crabs dusted with chilli.
They were crispy and crunchy.
They are teeny and we just ate them whole, including their shells.

Everyone enjoyed them so much that we got a second helping.

A little further down the street, the kids requested another snack – this time of ice cream in a waffle.

The size of these “snacks” was a huge surprise.

These became LUNCH.
I declined to have one and was given a freebie to try – corn ice cream topped with gula melaka (palm sugar) on top and yam (it’s purple) on the bottom. It was surprisingly delicious.

  1. The best was eating the waffle at the end – crispy on the outside, soft and soaked with ice cream on the inside! Gives a whole new meaning to “waffle cone”.

  2. Don’t look now, but there is a monster robot, and a big cat, watching your ice cream.
