Neighbourhood recycling

While out for a walk in our neighbourhood, Neil and I encountered a homeowner putting out a dining table and chairs at the end of his driveway. We had been talking about replacing the brown chairs with something lighter coloured for a couple of years (we got the brown chairs for free when we bought our glass table off kijiji), so we took the chairs home.

A little wipe-down and we have new lighter coloured chairs for our dining room. For FREE! We put our old brown chairs at the end of our driveway and they were gone in a couple of hours! These new chairs would have cost $50 each from Ikea.
A couple of days later, Neil discovered someone giving away their basket ball net – their 3 kids were grown and don’t use it anymore. He had just replaced the net itself recently.
So we nabbed that too! They were just a block away from home, so Neil simply walked the net home.
This would have cost about $200 new but we got it for FREE!
Shooting hoops with one of his parents has become Felix’s nightly activity.
