Nolan was finally assigned a teacher today – hurray! He knows 11 out of his 35 classmates, so he’s quite happy. Lara knows 2 out of 22, and poor Felix only 1 out of 35. It’s still early in the school year so I have hopes they’ll do some small group work so there’s more interaction between the kids in the class.

In the first week of school, I found out from the mom of Felix’s friend that he’s already tried to skip out of school early. Apparently, the conversation in text went something like this:
Felix: I’m leaving at 2. Don’t tell anyone.
Dev: My mom is sitting here and can see everything.
Felix: OK. I’m staying at school.
Felix: Hi Aunty Anu.
We had a good chuckle over that. 🤣
Turns out that Felix is lonely and wants me to sit beside him during class. So I’ve gone back to school as well, except I can’t hear anything because the sound goes from the laptop directly to his brain (not that I would understand much since it’s all in French anyway). Oh well, all for the greater good … and for the “I love you Mommy, I am happy now that you are here with me.”

It’s very quiet in the house during the day. If I make noise, it’s “Shhhhh Mommy. I am on a call.” Oh how the tables have turned. 😂
It’s hard on everyone. I’m glad mom is available to monitor. Lots of challenges.
I guess there are many ‘silver linings’ all around us. Great to see that summer vacation has ended!
