School for 3 – Finally

Nolan was finally assigned a teacher today – hurray! He knows 11 out of his 35 classmates, so he’s quite happy. Lara knows 2 out of 22, and poor Felix only 1 out of 35. It’s still early in the school year so I have hopes they’ll do some small group work so there’s more interaction between the kids in the class.

This is what school looks like for Nolan.

In the first week of school, I found out from the mom of Felix’s friend that he’s already tried to skip out of school early. Apparently, the conversation in text went something like this:

Felix: I’m leaving at 2. Don’t tell anyone.
Dev: My mom is sitting here and can see everything.
Felix: OK. I’m staying at school.
Felix: Hi Aunty Anu.

We had a good chuckle over that. 🤣

Turns out that Felix is lonely and wants me to sit beside him during class. So I’ve gone back to school as well, except I can’t hear anything because the sound goes from the laptop directly to his brain (not that I would understand much since it’s all in French anyway). Oh well, all for the greater good … and for the “I love you Mommy, I am happy now that you are here with me.”

Felix is on a short break here. The chair on the right is my spot in school. The bright side of this is that I receive so many lovely kisses and cuddles through the day!

It’s very quiet in the house during the day. If I make noise, it’s “Shhhhh Mommy. I am on a call.” Oh how the tables have turned. 😂

  1. It’s hard on everyone. I’m glad mom is available to monitor. Lots of challenges.

  2. I guess there are many ‘silver linings’ all around us. Great to see that summer vacation has ended!
