Felix’s 10th

His request was for a chocolate-vanilla-chocolate-vanilla layered cake. I figured interpretation was up to me. 🙂

I made the cake the day before. He insisted on helping me make the icing.
For the obvious reasons 🙂
Brothers!
The kids set up and decorated the sunroom.
So we could have breakfast in the sunroom.
Lara taught him how to cross stitch and designed a train for him on grid paper.
His homemade gifts. The two that were ordered (from Nolan and us) did not arrive in time.
From Grandpa.
He was most excited about what was in this big bag.
This was Neil’s train set as a child.
Apparently, it needs a bit of TLC to get it working again.
This was a joint gift from Nolan and Lara.
It is a city for all his vehicles to drive in, including a barn, e-charging station, garage, bridge, airport, emergency landing, etc.

Hugs all around!

From Lara,
He received this painting which he hung above his bed.
And then it was focused time to see what would work.
The sunroom was a bit tight, so there was a migration down to Neil’s office.
He was happy enough to just push the trains around while making train noises.
Completed birthday cake.
10 candles makes an easy F.
He wanted to light his candles
So he could blow them all out.
This is how candles are blown out in this house.
When the sugar rush hits.
His birthday wish was to drive and park the car. So Neil made it come true – just in the driveway. Felix was so thrilled!!!
He also got to drive the de-thatcher.
Seed and rake the grass.
His favourite part.

Bonus: with covid19, I had bought cream cheese the week before in case his request turned out to be chocolate cheesecake. So we had a chocolate cheesecake the following week. 🙂
