Profiteroles

These are one of our favourite snacks. Lara decided she wanted to make them as the store bought ones were too sweet. I found an easy-for-a-ten-year-old-to-follow recipe here and then just followed her around and get in the way took pictures.

First, make the choux pastry on the stove. Love the look on her face as she’s pouring in the flour. 🙂
Stir the batter till it comes together.
Pipe the dough onto the pan.
With wet fingers, shape them a bit.
Then bake them in the oven.
Make some custard filling.
And whipped cream filling. Looks like someone’s been sneaking some of the whipped cream 😉
Cool the pastry.
There were light and airy as promised in the recipe.
Pipe the filling into each pastry.
Then pour on LOTS of chocolate sauce. 😋
Show it off before your little brother (and the rest of the family) eat them all up! Seriously, they lasted about 60 seconds.

Since then, she’s made them several times. Each time, they are inhaled in about a minute.
