Prelude to Romania and Russia

In July 2015, Neil and I were provided with the opportunity to visit the folks we worked with in Bucharest, Romania and St Petersburg, Russia. Grandpa and Tita Christine took care of the kids for 10 days (the kids are 5, 6, and 7 at this point).

Of course, there’s always some sort of wrench thrown in the plans.

In this case, on Jul 5, five days before our departure, we discovered this in Neil’s office in the basement. There was an accompanying wet blob on the floor.
Late that evening, Neil managed to track it down to our dishwasher, resulting in the faulty appliance being pulled out and left in our living room.
Next day, there was a rushed visit to an appliance store where we purchased and brought home this beast. Thanks to Keith’s advice, this wasn’t as random as it appeared. Almost six years later, we are still very happy with the dishwasher.
The next day (this is now Jul 7), Neil installed the new dishwasher.
Along with some fancy plumbing. This is what’s hiding under our kitchen sink.
Jul 9 state >> Madness!
Thankfully, we have little bundles of happiness to make us feel better!
This is Jul 11, the morning of our departure.
Grandpa looking beautiful as always 😁
Grandpa modelling another look.
A rare picture of the two of us.
Afternoon activity for two.
He still lines up his toys like this! Nowadays, it’s vehicles.
Almost done! I like how they kids made use of the teapots and ramekins from the kitchen.
The finished product still hangs in Neil’s office!!
