Felix Dose 1 complete
A friend passed on the news of a popup vaccination clinic in our area, so we decided to give it a try on the clinic’s first day (walk-in only). I picked Felix up from school at 1PM and we arrived at the clinic at 1:30PM after a quick stop at home.
Thanksgiving in Niagara
We took a short trip to the Niagara region for the Thanksgiving long weekend with the hope of some outdoor activities. Following is a series of pictures showing the ship approaching the lock. Click < or > to progress through the series.
First week of school 2021
There was a two-day delay to the start of school this year, so the kids returned to physical school on Sep 9. All three started at new schools this year with Nolan at high school, and Lara and Felix at middle school. Here’s some of what occurred during the first week of school.
Leith 2021 August
We had originally planned a two-week stay at Leith this summer, renting a house a block away from Aunt Mary’s. With the relaxation of covid-19 restrictions, Aunt Mary and Tony said we could stay with them. For an extra bonus, since school was starting later than normal this year, they also invited us to extend […]
Deep River 2021

Neil checked with the doctor, and was told that Felix (unvaccinated) would present the same risks as the rest of us provided he wasn’t attending school or summer camp. He had not, so unlike last year’s visit, this Grandpa was able to remain at his […]
Cherry picking
Some friends invited us over for cherry picking. Lara was feeling under the weather from her second dose, and Nolan and Neil were out on an errand, so Felix and I biked over.
2 kids Dose 2 complete
Last night our postal code came up for a hotspot mobile clinic at a school in the neighbourhood. The vaccinations were held in the gym of a school that was about a 5 minute drive from our house. We managed to book two appointments for noon today. Two down, one last child to go.
Adult Dose 2 Complete
Just over 8 weeks after our first dose, we received our second at a popup clinic at the Antibes Community Centre close by. We had appointments this time and when we arrived, there were no lineups. Outdoor tents were set up for the clinic – breezy and pleasant. We received the Moderna this time around.
Concussion
On Friday, Neil and I drove down to Sick Kids Hospital to pick up a streamer for him. After school ended, while the boys were goofing around, Nolan picked Felix up by his ankles and subsequently dropped him, on his head. We returned home a short while later to find a very subdued Felix. He […]
