On the way home from the Sanctuary of Asklepios (Epidavros), we took a slight detour to check out what is believed to be the oldest Mycenean bridge in Europe. The Mycenaean civilization existed prior to the Ancient Greek civilization, and consisted of mainland Greeks who were influenced by people in the Mediterranean and Crete.
On one of Neil’s vacation days, we drove 30 mins from Nafplio to visit the Sanctuary of Asklepios at Epidavros. The highlight for Felix was the variety of vehicles he found on the site.
One of our first priorities in Nafplio after settling in and sourcing our groceries was to find beach. The weather was scorching and we desperately wanted to cool off. Lara’s class was learning about energy in class and they had to do a slide presentation about hydropower. She decided she also wanted to make a waterwheel to show how water turns a wheel, and the energy transfers through a rod to generate electricity.
