Boat Noodle Soup

Our lunch after our longtail boat ride through the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market was bowls of “boat noodle soup”.

The “kitchen” consists of a huge pot of boiling soup and all the ingredients that make 5 different variations of noodle soups in a boat.
The vendor’s home is set up for patrons to eat their soup. The string is their divider.
Entry into more living space.
Fridge and storage space.

Our guide said that one of her previous clients from the US showed her a picture of the lady on a menu and restaurant in LA. Someone had taken her picture and used it to brand a restaurant to sell the “famous boat noodle soup”.

Neil, Nolan and I ordered three Tom Yum noodle bowls – they came with rice noodles.
Lara and Felix had the Dry Noodles. Both types were delicious – not salty but very flavourful.
Dishwashing by the river – there’s a hose for city water, the dirty water gets dumped in the river. Our guide said they vetted the places to ensure the restaurants they use for tourists are “clean” (some vendors actually clean their dishes in the river 🤢.
