Our second stay in Singapore was another hostel where we scored a whole room with private bathroom for CAD$280 per night.

Our own bathroom – the photographer is in the middle of the two pictures.

Lounging in our bunks. Space was pretty tight, but it was clean and each of us had a bed, so no complaints.

After that stay, we arrived in our airbnb in Melaka, a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath condo on the 31st floor for CAD$80 per night. Yup, not missing any numbers here. This is what CAD$80 per night gets you in Melaka, Malaysia.

We have a kitchen with a fridge and stove; and a washer.

And 3 bedrooms with lots of cupboards for storage.

There’s also a gym and Nolan’s been getting everyone to exercise daily.

Malaysia cool. Such a contrast with Singapore. Seems to be thriving. Do most people live in high rise condos? Makes you want to study economics.
In Melaka, there aren’t very many high rises like the one we’re in. Melaka is tiny compared to KL though so it’ll be different when we head there tomorrow.
Happy New Year!
Holy moly! Love the pool!, and the views! How long is the pool? I could definitely live there. Is “4” bad luck?
Nolan guesses the pool is about 25 m. The word for the number 4 sounds like the word for death in Chinese, so it’s considered unlucky. It’s like the 13th floor in North America.
Happy new year to you too!
Hi Lii-Ling,
