Some friends invited us over for cherry picking. Lara was feeling under the weather from her second dose, and Nolan and Neil were out on an errand, so Felix and I biked over.

2 kids Dose 2 complete
Last night our postal code came up for a hotspot mobile clinic at a school in the neighbourhood. The vaccinations were held in the gym of a school that was about a 5 minute drive from our house. We managed to book two appointments for noon today. Two down, one last child to go.
Adult Dose 2 Complete
Just over 8 weeks after our first dose, we received our second at a popup clinic at the Antibes Community Centre close by. We had appointments this time and when we arrived, there were no lineups. Outdoor tents were set up for the clinic – breezy and pleasant. We received the Moderna this time around.
Bike fall and infection
Continuing the injury theme (stitches and concussion), the day after Felix received his concussion, Nolan asked Neil to do some bike jumps for a school project. A month later (Jul 20), the shoulder still hasn’t healed. He saw the doctor and the doctor thought that Neil had sprained it.
Concussion
On Friday, Neil and I drove down to Sick Kids Hospital to pick up a streamer for him. After school ended, while the boys were goofing around, Nolan picked Felix up by his ankles and subsequently dropped him, on his head. We returned home a short while later to find a very subdued Felix. He […]
Stitches are out
Warning: Some grisly images ahead. This is how the Pruning shears and 5 stitches story progresses and ends. The one major side effect to this was that we had to delay his Grade 8 piano exam, which was originally scheduled for June 15. The next soonest time slot for a remote exam was Jul 15. […]
Ride for Heart 2021
This year’s ride was another virtual one, and the route was to be heart shaped. We invited another family to join us for the ride. Despite the heat, the ride was loads of fun and we got to see some new sights in the city! It was shortly after 10AM when we completed the loop. […]
Chillax
There was no school on Friday, and Neil had the day off. When our friends texted to offer us the use of the pool since they were away for the day, we HAD to take them up on the offer. 🙂
Yard work and play
Unlike the paid yard work the kids do for Ivan down the street, they are kind enough to voluntarily work on our own backyard. A lot gets done when you have a team of 5 working together! The work is interspersed with lots of play time. The next day, he was out planting some butterfly […]
