Virtual School: Exercise and Socializing

The kids are still biking 10 km a day, 6 days a week. When with friends, they do a shortened version and then play games outside.

If you look closely, there are 3 boys in that tree – one is Felix. The other two are friends of his who are also in virtual school, though none is in the same class.

Sometimes, Neil goes with the boys during exercise time.

After a storm, this tree fell over their biking trail. Other kids have built the boardwalk; and our kids bring shovels and dug a detour.

Everyone has been doing yoga – either during school or inclement weather.

Here’s a small collection of what Physical Education classes look like when you’re in virtual school. It’s eerily silent because their siblings have to be able to hear their classes.

Nolan has been arranging meets with a couple athlete friends: she is a competitive swimmer and he is a AAA hockey player. The three of them often get together to train, which involves 10-15 km bike rides, blading, or trail runs. Sometimes, they just get together and talk.
So cold after a bike ride with other friends, so the kids decided to build a fire to warm up.
