En camino a Las Setas (a walk to Las Setas)

Being sleep deprived on our first full day at Spain meant that we were going to take it easy …. a 5 minute walk to Las Setas (Metropol Parasol – literally “The Mushrooms”). Of course, given this was our first day in Spain, it took us a significantly longer time to meander to our destination. Turns out that Parasol is an apt name since with the heat, even at 6:30PM, we were very grateful for the shade the wooden structure provided.

First major find is a book store almost next door to our apartment. Seville has lots of bookstores …
… lost of very narrow streets …
… amazing doorways …
And of course, many heladerías (ice cream, specifically gelato, shops)
Mango gelato for Nolan, Felix and LL; chocolate sin azucar (without sugar) for Lara, and espresso for Neil.
Las Setas (The Mushrooms)

You can walk around up on the top for 3€, but we decided to wait and come back one evening to watch the sunset.

Some interesting balconies, as seen from Las Setas:

With plants

Some others seen on the meander home:

And lots of dogs!

  1. You would have to be a giant to use the door knockers on that first door! A bookstore right next to your apt. That’s a dream come true!
I was a bit concerned when you wrote lots of dogs until the photo loaded. Those are easy dogs!
The gelato makes my mouth water. Have one for me next time?
Thanks for sharing your adventures! XO
