Ride for Heart 2019

This was our 8th year as VIPs (Very Important Philanthropists, raising over $1000 per adult), 8th ride with the kids, and 3rd time doing the 50km route. Each kid started with the 25km route when they were 5yrs old.

As with previous years, it was cool and wet when we started in the morning. By the time we finished, the sun was out. This year, due to rules of what we could bring, the only snack for the ride was a huge box of strawberries and blueberries.

At a rest stop

This year Neil’s phone was strapped to his handlebars (along with the GoPro) and LLK’s hands were cold, so there’s just the one photo from the ride itself.

After-ride activities included gobbling food, watching a BMX stunt show, and collecting balloons!
Everyone got their blood pressure taken. Neil’s was 113/64 with 2 espressos. Lii Ling’s was 98/64 (woo hoo!).
One balloon of each colour for each kid!
Plus more for additional cuteness
Kids were prepped that we probably wouldn’t be able to fit them all in the van.
Everyone worked together.
To squeeze them all in.
Barely …

Balloons were the best part of this year’s ride for the kids. Somehow, we managed to fit 29 balloons.
