Surfing snow mountains and riding icebergs

We had some exciting activities up in Leith for the February long weekend.

Nolan with an pickaxe to cut steps into the ice to make it easier to access the shoreline.
The shoreline had many caves with ice stalactites.
The kids ran wild (and cross-country skied) on the beach.
Even Aunt Mary got talked into braving the treacherous ice,
and trying out an “ice seat”.
Slush/ice balls along the shoreline – apparently, the conditions have to be perfect for the spheres to form along shallow beaches.
Playing on mini icebergs. The water is shallow and these are bumping on the sand bottom.
Kids are up and out early in the morning, leaving us notes to find when the parents eventually crawl out of bed.
The green abominable snowman ⛄️
Lots of snow clearing to be done.
But first, read the new Herman books that Aunt Mary managed to procure.
Hiding from the waves in one of the caves.
It is warmer and quieter.
Cross-country skiing was at Sawmill Nordic Centre and Massie Hills.
