Tree top trekking

Felix had a fun outdoor birthday party on the weekend. I made a huge mistake by not reading carefully, and we arrived at the first Tree Top Trekking site only to discover that it was the wrong one. It was going to be a 50km drive to the correct one! AAARRRGH!

On a side note, Felix reacted very well to the situation – just shrugged his shoulders and sat back quietly, then patted me on my hand. I need to take lessons from him when I’m disappointed.

We were forty minutes late but were fortunate that the birthday group had just started, so Felix whizzed through the safety demo and got started.
Felix is on the left.
Nolan, Lara and I went to explore the trails (and try to generate some heat) while Felix caught up with his friends. We knew he had reunited with his friends when we heard screams of “Felix! Felix!” echoing in the woods.
It was a cold, wet, and colourful walk. Neil went to charge the car since we were down to 17 km remaining by the time we arrived.
So glad Nolan suggested taking a panoramic shot.
Bright colours.
An unexpected vibrant shade of green.
When Neil returned, the two older kids got a turn to practice an important life skill.
And when he was done, Felix got to drive as well. Important advice >> Stay away from the brand new Tesla …
