In the days leading up to Halloween, Lara put up some scenes in her room.
The littles trialed their costumes. Aunt Mary’s mom made the ET costume, and Lara made the tunic and spray-painted the sword. She used the clock and hat from other costumes to complete her look.
The day before Halloween, there was a quick trip to Loblaws, where jumbo pumpkins were $3.44 each.Once home, the planning and mapping started. Then they dug in!Got right into the guts of the pumpkins. They took over the dining room table for the rest of the day. There were some unique ideas this year.

Things progressed over the next several hours.
The finished products:
For Halloween night, Lara had plans to go out with a couple of her friends. She didn’t want to actually get any candy, nor did she dress up, she just wanted to be with her friends, be outside, and see the decorations. The boys stayed home to help give out juice boxes (they were on sale for 25ยข each) to the neighbourhood kids. The kids came in droves, and we ran out at 7:15PM, so it turned out to be an early night.
