Woodford Loop

This was a short hike that promised many crevices and caves where the locals used to hide their illegal whiskey during prohibition.

The hike also promised lots of biting creatures, so we bug sprayed each other well.
Heading for the trailhead.

Nope, no illegal whiskey here.
One of the seven springs that flow down the slope.
This is the source of the spring.

  • Probably poisonous.
We also saw a wide variety of mushrooms … or maybe they were all the same type but at different stages of growth? We assumed they were all inedible.
Trying to sleep here.
Bear rock (Neil thinks it’s a sheep).
Change of scenery.
No leaves, just mosses in this whole section. Does anyone know what kind of trees these are?
Different types of fences. Both deteriorating.
Should we enter?
A bee shelter. There didn’t appear to be any bees around it though.
