BBQ Renewal

Cost of parts: $219.88+tx
Cost of a new BBQ: $500+tx and up from Home Depot.

Make: Broil-Mate (aka OMC, Onward Manufacturing Company)

Model: 735269

Our BBQ is approximately 10 years old. We upgraded to stainless steel grills pretty soon after purchasing it, and Neil has previously replaced the thermometer and igniter, but otherwise it has been neglected.

Parts for the BBQ renew were delivered in one shot. We ordered from GrillSpot, which had the best prices compared to Amazon and various parts stores (Reliable Parts, PartSelect).
Contents of the packages. 3x Flav-R-Wave (heat distributers), 3x burner tube, collector box (holds the burner tubes in place), 4x grease shield, plus a flexible Venturi brush and wire burner brush cleaning kit.
What is this?!?! 🤔 It’s the remains of a burner tube, dangerously corroded.
Cleaned and prepped for the new parts.
Even the exterior got a cleaning. In the photo on the left, the Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner is soaking prior to wiping.
Before and After – what a difference!
The grills soaked overnight before being scrubbed.
Renewal complete!
